The upper level trough will depart to our east through the day Wednesday. The sand and dust could cause poor visibility at times, and the South Coast Air District has issued an Air Quality Alert for the Coachella Valley and the San Gorgonio Pass areas through Wednesday morning where the sand and dust could cause health impacts. The winds will be strong enough to make for difficult travel for high profile vehicles along with a risk for blowing sand and dust out in the deserts of SoCal. Still, we should see extensive low cloud development overnight, with strong onhsore sfc pressure gradients continuing. The 00Z sounding indicated the marine layer had decreased about 400 FT from yesterday, and the layer below the inversion wasn`t as saturated. The marine clouds cleared most areas during the afternoon, but are filling back in this evening.
